Turn signal switch

... there has to be a "flasher" ... it just looks like all the other relays
in the relay box. Have you tested the emergency flashers?
Before you get too deep into this the first thing to do is to look at the
fuse listing to see if you can find one or more fuses that are indicated to
be for the turn signals ... check to see if the fuse has blown. Next, look
through the relay list to find the flasher relay ... It will likely be a lot
easier to replace the flasher than the switch ... of course most places
don't allow you to return electrical parts.
I had a problem with the signals on my car ... I think it was a 5kCSQ ...
which turned out to be due to a failure of the emergency flasher switch. If
you don't have a multimeter and wiring diagrams for the car you might want
to have someone at a shop do the troubleshooting for you ... that way you
will know what the source of the problem is. I'm afraid that you will end
up wasting your time and money shot gunning the problem.

I have a 1999 A6 Quattro and the turn signals don't flash. As I can't find
any flasher I'm thinking I have to replace the whole switch. Is that so?
And if so, how is that done? I see several sources on line, any preferred
brand or source? TIA
