Turn signal switch

On most of the newer (95 and up or so) VAG products, the flasher and
hazard switch are the same. And, the failure rate is pretty high for
them. However, they are usually Dealer or worldpac only.

That's the first place I'd look. You can check for power getting
there, and check the fuse as Steve said.
