OK then, I'll recenter the discussion : re: A8 as a winter car.
I've seen one yesterday, a MK1, that was parked in the street : its body was
immaculate, even if this car was clearly a young guy's ride (was light green
metallic an OEM paint ?).
I drove a 2009 for a week before Christmas, and I clearly fell in love with
the beast. Honey and the 2 girls too. The boot is as large as the Saab
wagon's, you can seat 2 child seats AND 1 granny in the back, it has a
proper Quattro system, the 350 hp V8 is plenty fast.
The only drawback (for Honey) is no manual transmission, except in the
Euro-only FWD V6 (3,2 and TDI).
Anyone has ever seen a rusty (eh.., corroded, de-aluminized, returned to its
basic element) A8 ?
