The GLX was available with both front drive or AWD. It was simple an
option. However, the V6 was standard in the GLX. The GLS got the 1.8T.

Partially right : In Canada, there were some 1.8T manual with 4Motion in
2004-2005, GLS trim only. That's one car I am seeking to replace the Saab
wagon one day. We can't drive auto (Honey is against, me too), we need a
wagon and there is no Audi wagon with a stick except some A4 Avant (very
rare) and allroad (even rarer). Until then, if Transport Canada relax the
rules, importing an Euro A6 Avant 2.5 TDI would be our dream car. Can you
imagine that ? A diesel as a dream car ? That beats the A8/Winter beater
nonsense, no ? :-)
