Yes, I was speaking of the US cars, of course. I should have put that
clarification in there. Elsewhere there have always been a much wider
array of VAG products/drivetrains available.
I can definately see that 2.5TDI being a great car. BTW, I'm the one
with the idea of an A8 as a winter beater. You should see some of the
cars my sisters have to choose from up north as used cars. While it
will surely eventually corrode, it will be long beyond the life of a
steel car. The fasteners on the car, however, that may be another
story...................
