A6 1999 2.8q ABS Help

Hi folks,

need some advice please.

Yesterday i decided to change a split cv boot on the front of the car, in doing so the abs light came on vag com told me that sensor was toast, today i buy new sensor fit it light goes out but now the abs works all the time no faults codes stored. Any ideas what's up??? The new sensor isn't oem audi it came from a german parts specialist all the plugs were the same and fits great, the only thing i can think of is that maybe i have grease and dirt on the abs ring on the driveshaft.
