Not to pile on the repair costs issue with fuel economy, but there sure
seemed to be a lot of the A6-v8/A8 cars popping up locally on CL/etc. last
summer when gas prices hit $4...I wouldn't want to be stuck with one of them
as a daily driver when that happens again. I think they get maybe 20mpg on
the highway? C&D said they could eke out 21-22mpg with the S8-v10 (driving
on eggshells) which they were happy with. Maybe it's me but I would not be
so pleased with that...perhaps if I could afford a new S8 I wouldn't care?
Just got back from a 600-mile trip in my chipped 200q20v, cruise control set
to "boring" and 27mpg on the studded Hak-1s.
