Foam and/or carpeting felt is really needed- I have nearly the entire floor
of my Miata dynamatted as well as the trunk and while it prevents a lot of
high frequency noise from traveling through the body, it didn't appreciably
make the car more quiet. I will pull up the carpets again and add a thick
layer of felt.
