Bilstein front insert question

Suspension experts!  Sorry to interrupt the Fiat/Fierro/Mr.Two love fest 
(which, BTW, I am enjoying).  I sold another shop a set of Bilstein 
strut inserts for an S6 (P36-0370, and they have some questions for 
which I don't have answers.  The shock tube fits the strut, but the 
diameter of the shaft is substantially larger, and the available bump 
stops are made to fit a shaft that's more than a half inch smaller.  Is 
there a bump stop available, or are they eliminated in this 
application?  Are these the strut inserts people use?  If not, what 
should we have purchased?  As always, I will be sincerely appreciative 
of any help rendered.  As I'm not on the S-car list, perhaps someone 
could put the question to them on my behalf .................  TIA!  John
