suggest that the Thermo-Time Switch is not functioning.  I'd recommend
verifying function of this circuit before going to the effort of adding a
manual control in the cockpit ...

Another vote for hot wiring the CSV.? I have done it in a bunch of CIS
audis, saves a ton of money and always works.? Not the "right" way to fix it
but without a doubt the easiest.?
