Attention to all,

You know that we have daytime running lamps in Canada. 

On some newer cars, when the blinkers are on, they shut the same side
daytime lamps to help the recognition. Chryslers are like that, and some
others. Don't miss them for burnt headlamps... 

I'm quite sure the Audis (if you select the City lights function in the MMI)
are like that too, but since they are the only ones with that function in
the USA for now, it's quite unusual for you staters.

In the last week, I've seen no less than three '09 A4's with the fancy
LED lights, where one side was lit up and the other side 'burnt out'.

Amazing.  In the US, the cars are what, barely 6 months old, tops?
