A8 Trans update

A caution that may not apply. 

 

I have the earliest 97 A8 and the transmission's oil pan is shallower than
later models. I installed the wrong trans filter and the sump tube (on the
filter) was bottomed against the pan. The pump couldn't get any oil because
the sump tube was blocked. The pump did complain and squeeled like crazy
soon after starting the engine.
