Since we are talking about coolant warning lights......

Just wondering.....since all of my 'older' Audi's have had a mechanical
float device in the tank. My '98 A4 shows a 'pressure' switch in the Bentley. But
how does a pressure switch work in a pressurized coolant tank. I've noticed
that my warning light will only come on with a low level when the engine is
started the first time in the morning, which is fine but, what if you were
loosing coolant as you are driving, as long as there is pressure in the system
the light will stay off until it could be too late...???
