Are you drawing power for your trailer lights from the battery?
I have seen some kits that are used for the separate brake and turn lights, converting them down to just one output for the trailer light.? You're still getting full draw off the car light wire?to power the trailer light, which is the reason the warning light lights up -- too much resistance.
With the power converter, it's a very small draw off the brake or turn signal light, which flips a transister.? power for the trailer light comes from the battery, so no warning light in the dash.
This is similar, if not the same unit I bought for my A6

Well I've got an electronic box there that converts the separate turn signals into combined signals and brake lights for the trailer. Still when I press the brakes or turn on the tails the bulb monitor complains. I'm wondering if even a relay coil would be enough draw to trip the bulb monitor.
