Yeah, using that hypothetical $150 "savings", I can't see dealer wanting
to do all the paperwork involved for that little.
There are also issues involved where "trade in" values aren't true "sale
prices" that might make it even more complicated.
I don't see why the dealer would want to bother...
Well, actually, that said, I do. I've been hearing some news lately
about the car industry having some "issues". The dealer might be, um,
"highly motivated" to make the sale to your seller and be willing to
jump through a few hoops.
But unless it's a car you really really want that is really really hard
to find and it's a really really good price, it sounds like too much
trouble for *you* to go through.
Another issue is that if the car legally passes through the dealer's
hands, they will likely have legal responsibilities for its condition.
