long shot - 08 Passat question

I'm trying to remove the sunroof/dome light panel on an 08 Passat to 
hard wire a radar detector.

Pulled off rear plastic cover and undid two torx screws, now the rear is 
"loose" but the front of the panel is very tight.

Anyone ever been anywhere near this area and know how to get the thing 
hanging by wires?

Sorry for the slightly non-Audi post, but all my Audi parts say "VW" on 
them...
