Thanks... I finally got it to drop, it requires counter-intuitive violence.
Break off rear cover, remove screws.  Then break off dome light clear 
cover, remove screws, break whole unit free.
One bug in the ointment now - there probably isn't an ignition 12v wire 
in there anyway, the sunroof controller is under the dash somewhere, 
etc.  Fun fun fun.
