Allroad torque converter failure.

The first thing I'd do is drop the pan and check all the connections.
I had two seperate instances of problems with VAG auto transmissions.
One, an A4 with about 100K came in not shifting out of first gear.
Pulled codes and it said bad solonoid. Pulled the pan and found that
one disconnected ever so slightly. TOok 100K to fall out enough to
loose connection.

The other was very similar. A 2002 or so Jetta auto with 67K would run
in limp mode, that is third gear only. Same situation, VAG-COM said
bad solonoid. Pulled the pan, and fournd the same thing. The plug had
just bearely come off enough to loose connection.

So, that's where I'd start. Not salying that's what it is, but here's
hoping for the best........
