Unintended acceleration

No sadly, when key is missing, you just get a message (key is missing !) and
an annoying beep.

I was a believer for that keyless entry and start feature, but every now and
then, I find myself wanting a traditional key. It's so intuitive, to turn
that key in the ignition, you always know where it is, you can't forget it
in the car if you have to lock the car with it, etc.

Mazda did it right : keyless entry, but you need to turn a plastic device in
the usual place to start-stop the car. So you get the best of both world :
easy access, safety of an actual ignition switch.

I guess I'm getting old...

De la part de Huw Powell :

I was just thinking about this feature a bit. So the way it works is
the button only turns the car on if the car senses the magic "key" in
the driver's pocket, right?

Does it turn off if, say, the driver just gets out and walks away? IOW,
does the "key" have to be present for the car to keep running?

Because if so, throwing it out the window would work to turn the engine
off...
