Need advice on a 2000 A6 4.2

That is probably the original t-belt, so if you go by *age*, it is long
overdue for replacement; don't hesitate getting is changed.

The 4.2 in the A6 chassis gives less room around the engine to work
compared to the A6 chassis.  If someone else is doing the work, fine. :)

My guess is that at 9-10 years old, it's the electrical stuff (sensors,
LED display in the dash, etc.) that will be the bugaboo.  That said,
I loved the A6 4.2 I almost bought last winter.
