low volts, not charging '90 200 (Nick Lawrence) quattro Digest, Vol 71, Issue 52

The battery light I saw was in the diagnostic screen (the OK screen).

 I compared to my other Audis, and I don't have a battery light that comes 
on with the ignition.  From past posts, word is that this bulb is necessary 
for charge to occur.

The alternator is only a month old but we all know anything can fail.

I can measure the same volts at the battery and the charging post, but I 
will look again for the splice.
