I was thinking of toying with him. Any more good questions - I don't mind wasting his
time for a chuckle or two.
My initial reaction was scam. The only thing he did that is different from other
scammers is the phone call - pretty bold. The more I think of it how does he happen to
have a 200 Q tranmission - was that available in UK?

I've got an idea. Ask him the condition of a made up part of the transmission.
"The upper nodular bearing seal is a common failure point on these transmissions. Can
you confirm that it's good on this one?"
