allroad sunroof problem

I agree that it is likely the not unusual 'ghost' roof problem. However, 
the fix may not be as simple as cleaning the contacts. The contact 
'strip' may need to be bent slightly to prevent the intermittent 
'touches' that are causing the erratic roof behaviour. There is a

I did this repair on my 2002 A4 last year & the roof has behaved itself, 
so far.... The only 'problem' with the procedure is that it is difficult 
to remove the entire unit from the car because of the way the wiring 
harness is fastened, which is noted in the procedure. It wasn't too bad 
working on the unit in the front seat. Make sure that you bend the 
contacts in the 'logical' direction & test the roof operation before you 
put the unit back in place.
