Strut bearing(s)? Jack up each side to unload the bearings and see if the
noise is still there.

Subject: Squeaking Noise - Tie Rods or Control Arms
OK, I usually ignore most squeaking/rattling noises, but this one I can't
ignore.
So, my 99 A6q has gotten this squeaking/creaking noise whenever I turn the
steering wheel. Even when parked. Seems to be coming from the right side.
Also, breaking and going over small bumps from a low speed induces this
noise.
At first I thought it could be control arms. But the more I hear it,
especially when I just turn the wheel while parked, the more I think tie rod
end. I can hear it at low speeds as well. I changed both left and right
outer tie rods about six maybe seven months. Could one or both of them have
gone bad? Or is it something else?
