A new type of front suspension ?

Tihol,
The bump stop we are talking about is for the full extension position.
Normally, a car will never experience such a situation, and there is no
element in a McPherson suspension that could stop that extension except the
shock itself. It acts in fact as a rubber limit strap.
I do wonder why they designed that "stop absorber" instead of a normal
rubber disc. It must be to add some additional damping at the end of the
extend stroke while not limiting full travel on bumpy asphalt roads.
