Tony....you probably are going to do this anyhow, but if I were doing it, 
I'd pick a small area of maybe one square foot on that shell and TEST 
whatever foam and adhesive I planned to use.  I'd test for water 
absorption, adherence, and comparability of the adhesive with the foam and 
the plastic shell.

That way, you could afford to test several materials, for best performance.

That's a big shell, and I wouldn't want to commit to the whole 9 yards 
without absolute evidence that what I was using would work.
