hood props fail at freezing temperatures?

How old is the unit? You could set up some strut prewarmers that would
trigger off you opening the door handle maybe? ...perhaps add a battery to
give that extra boost needed to make them perform...or..get new struts.
Make sure you put the clip on your struts..i didn't and it came off the
mount and punched through my igloo. Yuck.
