it is really simple to test. get your audi and cruise along the highway at
legal speeds, then tap the brakes whilst keeping your foot on the
accelerator pedal. voila, power is cut. in my rs6 if i hit the gas pedal
again, whilst the brakes are still applied, power will resume, but in the
allroad it will not. hence different software in the ecu for these 2 cars.
toyota have deficient software controls in their cars. this has been a
conscious development decision, and is therefore symptomatic of a mindset.
much as i hate the media when it gets misguided, i believe that this is the
issue that is now being tracked, and one that toyoda san is also now telling
the world about.
