Ice lapping this week-end

This month, there is at least 2 days scheduled at the Mecaglisse racetrack,
1 hour north of Montreal : sundays, January the 10th and the 31st. There
will be more in February, and maybe also in March.

Price is 145$ for the day, you can expect to see 6 to 8 15-minutes sessions
during the event. Believe me, after 15 minutes you will be exhausted and
wanting some rest.

You can also hop in other guys cars when you are not lapping, but it is best
to ask for the permission first... 

I'll be there for the umpteen time since 2002, I still rank these days as my
favourite winter activity. In fact, I keep the car for almost just these
events, since I have absolutely no spare time with the two young girls in
the family. The older knows perfectly what I'm doing up there : " you're
going to skate with your car, no ?"

No absolute need for a AWD car, but it helps. Very good tires are mandatory
if you want to have some fun. 

But speed is not the only interesting bit : perfecting your lines, staying
out of the snowbanks and generally avoiding any impact is fun in itself.
