           ====================================
I had the exact same thing with my '99 A-6 with Tiptronic. The car had been
flooded in a storm and when I drove it out of the water it behaved fine for a
few miles then the slipping started. Turned out the computer had shorted
out (it's located in the floor of the car and got wet) and apparently screwed
up the tranny. I had the option of a used tranny or going to a rebuild shop
and chose the latter, Lee Myles. Mistake. Maybe they can handle chevys
but I don't think can do so well with Audis. Took three months and three tries
before I finally got the car running. Pretty good now, though, 40,000 miles
later.
