Glad to help.

Two points jump out at me:

1."I'm confident in the car,"

--> Since insurance is abotu averages, that point is key. Its YOUR car. 
YOU know how its been treated.  great point.

2. "should i take it to the dealer?"

--> Hell No! Unless you have a very unusual dealer, find thyself a good, 
well equipped, indie and mate for life.
Nearly all dealers are very expensive, but worse, work on the flat rate 
plan which pays techs to cut corners. And they do.
Inspections, uh, yep. Check.

Oh, and get thyself a set of tools too :-)

Unless you really enjoy working on cars, you will need an indie for the 
bigger stuff- Timing Belts, CVs (they will go), control arms.

But you can certainly do the fluid changes if you want. Adn thsoe 
inspections that i find the dealer never actually performs.
You may not wish to. You may not have the time. But you should at least 
consider it.
