Front sway bar, C4 vs t44

Does anyone know if the front sway bar from a C4 will fit a Type 44?  Any
BTDT?

I'm trying to see if 28mm C4 bar will fit my '87 5kCStq because I haven't
been able to find the 28mm bar which came on some models of the V8 quattro .
I recall there are several part numbers for the 5k all of which will fit and
suspect the C4 numbers will not reveal any commonality.
