100 q door hinge lubrication

Another advice: if the door is hard to open or close, maybe a hinge is
binding. Quick way to find which one : open and close (without actually
closing it really) the door for 20-30 times, and the binding hinge will be
hot to the touch. Do it another 100 times, with liberal use of your
preferred slippery stuff on the offending hinge, and it will last another 6
to 12 months. Usually, it's the passenger side door, and it binds because
the car sits in a heated garage at work in the rustbelt area. Ask me how I
know...

Once the bushings have been scored, it may never go away completely - but
here are some ideas.

I never had a 100q, btu i've had a parade of audis from 4000s to C5s.

Int he door jamb there are several points to lubricate - there is an actual
hinge, and often there is also a spring mechanism with rollers and detents
to hold it in various positions.

I like products that go on as a liquid and then set up as a grease, because
they penetrate better. You cant often spray directly on to the bushing
surfaces.  The product i use is Wurth HHS-2000. Many audi dealers use and
sell this. Expensive, but good and lasts.

Someone tells me there is a 3M lithium grease product that is similar - and
better. Maybe - i have not used it.
