FYI issue on triptronic

Ok, I'll bite.... The only electrical item in my sunvisor (besides the vanity mirror light) is the Homelink, but I can't imagine how that would be tied
into the transmission..... Unless it's related to the position of the ignition switch, since the Homelink only workswith the switch in the 'on' position.....

My 99 A6 Avant has been in the shop for two weeks. They have been trying to diagnose an intermittent problem with the triptronic.  It was not always going in to R or D and then would get sent to limp mode. After chasing a lot of ideas that turned out to be red herrings, the problem was a short in the wiring to the driver's sun visor.
