Using one quart of oil in 4000 miles is not too bad at all. My 'ex' 98
A4 2.8 used ~1l every 2000km, or so. IMO, this was really bad, but
online & personal research indicated that any consumption less than
about 1l/1000km was 'acceptable'. Yikes!
I'm glad to say that the 3.0 in my 2002 A4 uses oil at about the same
rate as your 2.0T. Check the oil level more frequently, especially after
an oil change.
