that is true, and I will be more vigilant. However I would point out
that I have never had this problem in any car I have owned - pontiac,
oldsmobile, volvo, ford, VW. Most of these cars were well over
100,000 miles when I got them and a couple were 15 years old at the
time. I'm somewhat mehacnincally inclined, but imagine telling
someone who just dropped $30,000 on a new car that they need to check
the oil every 2 weeks. I just feel like that is an olde timey problem
that affects old cars, not something I should be experiencing.

I guess my point is what's with the Audi that I'm having this
"problem" (that isn't a problem)? Maybe I should be checking the oil
more often, but maybe the Audi should be engineered such that it burns
less oil than a crappy old ford taurus :)

Yes I know you can find faults in my logic, but I think you would
agree that when I compare my crapmobiles to my fancy german engineered
car, it's just a little disheartening to be having a problem such as
this in such a new car and one that isn't particularly cheap.

Incidentally I'm scheduled this weekend to have my coil packs
inspected/replaced due to a "we won't use the word recall" letter I
got in the mail a couple weeks ago :)

Also, someone asked about the oil used - Mobil 1 0w-40
