Cody, it sounds like you are on the right path.

On the subject of the CC reading, my 5000's and V8 also did about the
same thing, and they were both low from the actual reading. I think
the V8 (my most recent t44) read about 13.4 at the cc head, and about
14.0 at the battery and jump post. That was with everything turned on
an right after replacing the alternator.

I recall the 5000s actual voltage being somewhere around 14 as well,
bit don't recall the exact numbers. However, I haven't worked on a car
in a long time that didn't follow the 13.8-14.2 volt general rule of
thumb.
