My A4 (Audi content) does the same thing with the headlights. They won't  
come on (sometimes) and I just release the steering wheel lock pull  
in/out/up/down and then they work. You have a bad connection. Turn on the key  and 
the turn signals and start moving the steering wheel, you may find the sweet  
spot. It could be a common problem. Search one or the many Ford Truck/Van 
sites  such as _http://www.ford-trucks.com_ (http://www.ford-trucks.com)  
...it  could be a simple fix.
