Cleaning the inside of DOT headlights

This is the "Magic Formula" I use it to clean out coffee stained Thermos  
bottles. 
 
3 T Electric Dish Soap Powder (something like Cascade)
1 T Lemon Juice
1/3 C White Rice
 
add Hot water, shake and let sit overnight.
 
Shake again in the AM and pour out, your thermos will be sparkling. 
 
Now, if this will clean my thermos, I'm sure it will do a  headlight.
