Electrical Problem '82 CGT

I did notice a lug on the ground strap near the battery box. There were  
what looked liked possible mounting points, but none that had obviously seen  
use. I must have a Bentley for this model around someplace, I'll check for  
pictures of proper mount. Otherwise, I'll just find a way.
 
Thanks for all the suggestions. I have had "green death" in the fuse box of 
 my '87 16V Scirocco. If others have this problem, and don't want to pay 
the "big  bucks", I found that the box from Cabriolets are a direct 
interchange with the  Scirocco.

cgt with battery  under hood, ground wire goes from battery to crappy 
"chassis" ground on side  of batt compartment to transmission bolt. 
Check and clean  all.
