2.slow?

i had one for a while. between an 88 90 and a 98 a4. i liked it, slow as
balls but was a great little gitter. got good mpg's, decent enough interior,
felt nice goin down the road, tons of space inside it..

given that you can get clean ones for almost free it's a solid little buy.
IIRC the mk4's were much more problematic. not much on a 2.0 to go wrong.

the vr's handles weird and weren't fast enough to justify the downsides
IMO.
