You probably got water into a connector or six.
Undo all engine compartment electrical connections, one at a time, clean
with contact cleaner spray, enhance with silicon dielectric grease, and
try again.
I'll get back to you on the hot start/no revs thing, but in the
meanwhile you might want to keep in mind that type 89 90Qs are mostly
boys, from what I've seen. You might want to stop calling him "her" and
see if that helps.
