Electrical issues, headlights relay - '87 4000

Yes, you have to relay the parking lighs. I've done this on several
4000's I've owned int he past. THere are two different ways I did
this. One car, I put a relay at the front and one at the back. In the
other two, I put them under the instrument cover. Under the cover
makes it easier to keep things oriented left to right, as well as
power the instrument cluster with relay power. When doing the rear,
don't forget the wires that run into the trunk for the taillights and
license lights. Double check them along the route inside the plastic
trim. They follow the hinge, and bend just above it in the trunk area.
I've had most of my 4k's had at least one broken wire there. One of
the cars (recently) melted the switch and socket because of this,
though there was an incorrect (too high of amperage) fuse in the slot.
Also, make sure to fuse the leads that come from the battery which
will be used for the new feeds to the lights.
