Type 44's are officially classics, or at least scarce.

I'm in LA with the 85 urq after doing the get-together in Vegas and I saw an
84-85 Avant FWD at a light.  I was in Mom's Camry though.  The Avant had the
thicker rear spoiler at the base of the back window.  I just kind of stared
at it.  Thought it was pretty rare to see one of those still running around.

I haven't seen anything older than an A4 around here for years with a 
few exceptions - Chris Semple's yard, Marc Swanson's UrQ and Coupe 
Quattro (TT V8), my parking lot, and one red 5000 that a Mercedes 
mechanic has owned since new, IIRC.  It has over 400k on it, license 
plate "VW5K".
