Tony,
Before forking 377$ a strut, check if they are Stabilus branded (the old
ones). If so, then you can find them everywhere for a fraction of the OEM
price.
If not, then tell us what brand and part number, I'll check here with my
marvelous FLAPS.

What I was trying to understand is if that is in fact all that holds
the top up? I have a new (aftermarket) set in there right now, and
it's still nearly inpossible to lift the top. They are stronger than
the OEM original set that I pulled out of there, though. Is there
nothing else that lifts or holds the top other than those lift struts?
If that's the case, I guess he will have to pay for the OEM ones. Yikes!!
