Re. steering rack install question

No you don't have to pull the transmission, but it is a PITA job.  Requires a lot of
time, and patience, nimble fingers (sometimes) and a little thinking.  You may need to
bend (gently) a few of the brake lines out of the way.   I foget which side it comes out
best, but my experience was that it was opposite what the manual says.

Make sure you have enough fluid to force bleed the system.  If on a budget, I would
obtain some Mobil DTE 13 or suitable less expensive Pentosin substitute to force bleed
the new rack and expel all old smuk out of the system  - lock to lock while filling and
recirculating fluid.  Sometimes the system volcanoes, so be ready to capture the
expulsion.  

When it is all done, fill with the better Pentosin.

i've heard you need to pull the tranny to swap the rack, is this true?
