Pinstripe Removal

Having just removed the old stoneguards off my 944 turbo for
replacement, I'll second the heatgun/hair dryer approach (if they are
decals). A plastic putty "knife" helped me, as the stoneguards were so
old and brittle there was no way they were going to peel off nicely.
A little 3M adhesive remover can help finish the job as well.  My
brother's old '90 80 quattro had dealer installed pinstripes.  They
were decals w/o clear coat.  I suspect it was a way for the dealer to
increase their profit on the original sale...
