Pinstripe Removal

Having (ashamedly) worked at a stealership for a short term, the reason they put that sort of stuff on is margin.
That as well as clear bras and other "add-ons", once installed are added to a supplemental sticker, and the mark up on such items can be 200-300% or more. This can add as much as $400-500 profit to the sale. If they sell 30 cars a month that can add as much as $12,000 to revenues.
Bottom line baby! Taste or what people want has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Perhaps to make the car stick out. I dunno. Dealerships are not really run
y people who get/like cars from my experience, their run by people not much
nlike politicians whom believe they know what the people want despite what
he people say... You still see a lot of new cars given the pinstripe
reatment for some unknown reason. My dads F150, my sisters Alero, and my
randfathers nearly brand new Taurus all have stripes, and I have no idea
hy. I would demand their imediate removal on any car I bought. But that's
e. I've even seen a guy with a Mazdaspeed miata like mine with
instriping. Looks horrid. That's life though.
