HID conversion

couple cautions - hid's and halogens have different reflector patterns - at
least with headlights. word is you get too much light in too many places
when you convert. on a fog/driving light that might be a good thing..

also the quality of a lot of the aftermarket stuff is IMO dodgy. i have
aftermarket ballasts to use b5s4 hid housings in my a4 and they suck [crap
quality wiring, plug fit, etc]. and they weren't the cheapest ones out
there. light output is noticeably lower than friends phillips /osram stuck
s4 stuff.

i'd imagine a good set of halogens would do the job fine? i bought a set of
hella driving lights from susquehanna for the ride to tahoe and had to take
em off - WAY too much light. no way to keep from blinding oncoming cars
unless they were aimed at the road which made them useless. fog lights may
have been a better call. ill sell em cheap if you need em!

my car is also pretty low.. mounting them under the bumper was vy limiting.
but that may be fine given you're looking to light the sides of the road. i
was going to go mustang style and mount them behind the grill, but worried
about cooling issues.

you know, cuz my raging 1.8t makes so many horsepowers it might melt the
radiator..
