[urq] Future Audi : is there a TDI planned ?

What is this extra crappy 4 cyl. mentioned in the new US Jetta? Volume?
I have a '99 2.0 in a bug with 300+ kms going strong. Still has better
compression than his 1.8T cousin (as factory intended) in another bug with
half the mileage. Drinks about the same amount of fuel as the turbo, only
regular and has seen Dino juice for oil changes instead of synth. oil.
Changed sparkies and water pump once during this time, twice t-belt. Sure,
won't win acceleration contests with it but crappy doesn't come to mind.
